Sharmila slams No Big Difference In Jagan And Chandrababu on Liquor

Friday, October 18, 2024

APCC chief YS Sharmila lamented that there is no big difference between former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and present chief minister Chandrababu Naidu when it comes to liquor policies of their respective governments.

She said that in the YCP government, the prices of liquor have been increased and the liquor mafia has been kept in the dark. She alleged that during Jagan’s regime, thousands of crores of rupees were looted by selling inferior liquor only through cash. While liquor mafia operated from Tadepalli palace during the previous regime, she alleged that presently it is being run in the hands of Telugu brothers.

However, Sharmila welcomed Chandrababu’s `Job First’ slogan. But, she deplored that unemployment in the state is at its peak. In the last 10 years, she said industries or youth have migrated in the state.

Referring to Chandrababu’s announcement that he will provide 20 lakh jobs in the state in five years, she reminded that there are 40-50 lakh unemployed people in the state. According to this calculation, if we give 4 lakh jobs per year, she asked what about the fate of the rest of them.

“In the past, the Modi government also cheated by saying 20 crore jobs. How many of the 20 crore jobs have we got? Why is Babu supporting Modi who has not given a single job? Modi should give another 30 lakh jobs in the state in addition to the 20 lakhs you give. Babu should demand the Center to this extent”, she said.

Sharmila advised that both Modi and Babu should sit together and release a white paper on job creation. Also, she said that nearly 3 lakh jobs are vacant in the government departments of the state. She demanded that a white paper should be released as to when the government jobs will be filled. She also wondered whether PM Modi cannot give one capital mine to Visakha Steel Plant to protect the plant.
