CRDA To Invite Tenders For All stalled works In Amaravati within two Months

The 38th authority of CRDA has decided to prepare a DPR for the completion of trunk infrastructure in the capital city of Amaravati and to invite tenders for all the stalled works within two months. The meeting was held under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday evening.

The authority approved the establishment of the Environment and Social Management Unit. Cancelling old tenders for the constructions of MLAs, MLCs and All India Officers buildings, it has approved calling for new tenders to complete the pending works at a cost of Rs.524.70 crores.

It has been decided to hand over the responsibilities to the 11 organizations for the completion of the pending works of the APCRDA project office. The proposal to take a loan of Rs.15,000  crores from the World Bank and Asian Development Bank for the development of the capital city has been approved.

As it is a project undertaken at a cost of Rs.50,000 crores, environmental clearance is required for every construction. The authority approved the CRDA’s decision to set up a special environment and social management unit for this purpose. The authority has decided to hand over the work to KCP, which is the 1st for the completion of the CRDA project office.

As part of the trunk infrastructure development in the capital city, 34 roads, sewage canals, water supply network, power facilities, flood prevention works, Palavagu and Kondaveetivagu canal construction will be undertaken. It has also been decided to expand the reservoirs at Sakhamuru, Neerukonda and Krishnayapalem.

It has been decided to increase the existing lift at Undavalli and to set up a second lift at Vaikuntapuram for flood water management. It has been decided to form a technical committee to assess the status of previously stalled works. Its tenders were won by RV Associates. All tenders for Amaravati will be completed by November and December.

Minister for Municipal Administration Dr P. Narayana said that the tenders required for the assembly and secretariat works will be called before January. He said that all these works will be completed in two years and  the iconic buildings will be completed in two and a half years.

He mentioned that they have given leases to assigned farmers as well. He said that 1400 more people should be given and decided to give plots within 10 days through a lottery method to those who have given lands in the past. He said that the jungle clearance has been completed in Amaravati and the issue of participation of the Singapore government in the construction of the capital is yet to be discussed.
