If the latest grapevine in political circles of Andhra Pradesh is to be believed, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has requested Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi to be the brand ambassador for film industry and tourism sector of the state.
It is a known fact that Chiranjeevi called on Chandrababu Naidu at the latter’s residence in Hyderabad on Saturday to handover the cheque of Rs 1 Crore as a donation for flood affected victims. Chiru and Naidu spent some time together and reportedly discussed various issues pertaining to the state as per the later reports. This meeting garnered the attention of the media and there have been speculations on what transpired between both these bigwigs. Sources revealed that they spoke at length about Pawan’s way of handling issues as a first-time MLA and Minister and other aspects.
During this meeting, Chandrababu is said to have invited Chiranjeevi to play a significant role in the political affairs of the state. He asked Chiru to oversee the establishment of film studios and also to promote tourism in the state. It is believed that Naidu offered a prominent post to Chiru with an intention to use his charisma and popularity for the next elections.
As Pawan Kalyan is a coalition partner of the TDP in NDA government, the alliance between both parties is likely to continue in the coming years. So. Naidu believes that addition of Chiranjeevi will consolidate the Kapu votes further and also unites Mega fans further like it did in the 2024 elections.
Chiru is not new to politics and also served as a tourism minister during his stint with the Congress party. It remains to be seen if he agrees to Naidu’s proposal or not.
