Party Leaders Demand Chairman’s Resignation Amidst Turmoil!

Friday, October 11, 2024

Three months ago, the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections resulted in a defeat for the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), leading to the downfall of Jagan’s government. With a coalition now in power, Nara Chandrababu Naidu has taken on the role of Chief Minister, while Pawan Kalyan, the leader of the Jana Sena, serves as Deputy Chief Minister. Currently, several MPs, former ministers, and leaders associated with the YSRCP have resigned from the party and transitioned to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Jagan’s efforts to prevent YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders, former ministers, and ex-MLAs from switching parties are failing. He was taken aback when his own relative, former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, opted to join the Jana Sena. Additionally, two former MPs have resigned from their positions to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Currently, there is considerable buzz surrounding the pressure exerted by councilors and party leaders on the Kadirii Municipal Chairperson from the united Anantapur district to resign from her position.

In the recent municipal elections in Kadiri, councilors from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) secured notable victories, resulting in the election of Nazeemunnisa as chairperson. However, dissatisfaction is growing among the YSRCP councilors, who are expressing their frustration with Nazeemunnisa for failing to implement any projects in the town’s 36 wards during her almost three-year tenure. They are raising concerns about her ineffectiveness in the role.

Amid the situation, a petition has circulated on social media, signed by 18 councilors from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), urging their chairperson, Nazeemunnisa, to step down. After several party leaders resigned, it has been reported that Nazeemunnisa voiced her displeasure regarding the behavior of the councilors and other YSRCP members.

Kadiri Municipal Chairperson Nazeemunnisa is facing criticism from YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) councilors for not adequately performing her duties, which they claim contributed to the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) success in the recent MLA elections. They are calling on her to take responsibility and resign from her post. This split among YSRCP councilors into two factions has ignited intense discussions in Kadiri town, leading to concerns about the future of municipal management.
