Strongly refuting the advertisement policy practiced during YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime, I&PR and Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said that they gave crores of rupees of advertisements to some newspapers, even though they were not eligible.

But, he said at the same time, they didn’t give advertisements or didn’t pay for the given advertisements to neutral newspapers. On Friday, he entered his Peshi at the Secretariat and recalled that they issued orders for payment of Rs 200 every month towards subscription of a particular newspaper. This GO was cancelled soon after the formation of the new government, he added.

The minister said that during the 100-day rule of the coalition government that came to power,  Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is working to improve the situation from the disastrous situation left over by the previous government. He accused that the state was brought down into debt and the opportunity of revenue sources was not developed.

He said that youth have been deprived of employment opportunities, and in these circumstances, CM Chandrababu is trying to elevate the state. On the other hand, he said that he is trying to keep the promises made in the elections.

He expressed the opinion that if the state has good leadership, the government employees can achieve good results. He said that the pension of 65 lakh people was distributed by the government employees on a single day. Keeping in view of the difficulties faced by the farmers, he said they have paid Rs 1600 crore dues to them.

He said that the Land Titling Act brought by the previous government has been abolished and education in schools has been improved. He said they are taking steps for Mega DSC to recruit 16,700 teacher posts. He said that they are working with the aim of preparing the young men and women to bring development and increase the per capita income and GDP of the citizens.

Parthasarathy accused that the previous government had plunged the state into a debt pit of Rs 10.5 lakh crore, but was unable to pay even employees salaries properly.
