TCS to set Its Foot In Andhra, 10K Jobs on offer

Wednesday, April 16, 2025

While the previous government of Andhra Pradesh under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy drove away industries and MNCs with its anti-investment policies, the current regime with Chandrababu Naidu at the helm is taking  steps to make the state a one stop destination for major IT companies. It is a known fact that during 2014-19, several software giants like HCL Technologies established their development centres in Andhra Pradesh.

In just four months, the state is now on path towards resurgence in drawing several investments. Close on heels after the announcement of retun of Lulu Group to Andhra Pradesh, here comes another major announcement which will bring cheer to IT employees and aspirants.

The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has committed to setting up a major IT facility in Visakhapatnam that will employ up to 10,000 people, following discussions with Minister for IT & Communications and Real Time Governance N. Lokesh during his visit to the Tata Group headquarters in Mumbai on October 8.

Expressing happiness over the development, Mr. Lokesh posted on social media platform ‘X’ that Andhra Pradesh would offer the best-in-class investment climate to corporates driven by its motto of ‘speed of doing business’.This announcement comes shortly after investments from the Lulu group, Brookfield, Oberoi, and Suzlon Energy, further highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s resurgence as a preferred investment destination in India.

In Chandrababu Naidu’s previous tenure, the state witnessed mammoth investments in various sectors. The establishment of Kia Motors in Anantapur was a huge achievement for the government. Now, there are massive expectations on the current NDA coalition led by TDP, Janasena and BJP. Nara Lokesh as IT Minister has promised to deliver his best for creation of employment opportunities to lakhs of youth.

In the election manifesto, Naidu promised 20 lakh jobs in various sectors. The establishment of TCS is a right move towards that direction.
