Renowned director K.S. Ravikumar has made allegations against superstar Rajinikanth regarding their film Linga. In a recent interview with a YouTube channel, Ravikumar discussed the failure of the movie, claiming that Rajinikanth intervened in the editing process.
“Rajinikanth interfered in the editing. He didn’t give me any time for CGI (computer graphics). He changed the entire second half. He removed a song featuring Anushka and eliminated a twist in the climax. A scene with artificial balloon jumping was added. He turned Linga into a mess,” Ravikumar stated. These remarks have since gone viral on social media.
K.S. Ravikumar is well-respected in Kollywood as a director. He has previously collaborated with Rajinikanth on successful films like Muthu and Narasimha. Their latest collaboration, Linga, was released in 2014 and was made on a massive budget as an action-comedy film. Rajinikanth appeared in a dual role, with Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka playing the lead female roles. Despite grossing over ₹150 crores at the box office amid high expectations, the film was ultimately deemed a failure. In a 2016 interview, Ravikumar spoke about the film’s outcome, stating, “Our film grossed over ₹150 crores worldwide. That’s not easy. In terms of collections, our film is a super hit.”
