Superstar Rajinikanth is one of the biggest crowd pullers at the box office. His films usually garner humongous openings irrespective of the pre-release hype due to his stardom. No matter who is the director of his film, the collections in the first weekend will be massive because of his craze. But, promotions are the need of the hour to generate significant buzz in other languages.
His upcoming film Vettaiyan The Hunter is set to hit the screens on October 10th. Surprisingly, there are no promotions for this big-budget entertainer. Despite featuring a star-studded cast with numerous cameo roles from the likes of Rana Daggubati, Amithabh Bachchan and Fahad Fasil, the makers of the film didn’t make any attempt to promote the film in Telugu and Hindi. The buzz in Tamil is also minimal.
As Rajinikanth recently got treated for an ailment, there won’t be promotions involving him even after the film’s release. As this his immediate next film after blockbuster Jailer, there are good expectations on the film. However, the collections will largely depend on the reviews and word of mouth. This will be a big test for Rajinikanth’s box office potential.
While the story is penned by director Gnanavel himself, the script is crafted by B Kiruthika. The film will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by SR Kathir, production design by K Kadhir, stunts by Anbariv and editing by Philomin Raj.
