YS Jagan Avoiding Return of Costliest Things

Saturday, October 5, 2024

Former chief minister and YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy is avoiding returning of equipment purchased earlier as Chief Minister to the government. In a letter his office sent to the General Administration Department (GAD), it only stated that they are ready to return some chairs and tables, but not mentioning the fate of costliest times.

Even after four months, he did not send even a formal list of valuable government items that remained with him. Jagan’s office, which sent a list of items to be used and a list of items to be returned, is not responding to the video conference system worth Rs. 1.07 crore. It was installed in Tadepalli residence, which was previously converted into the Chief Minister’s camp office.

The most expensive video conference system was previously purchased and installed from the Political Department of the GAD. Even after the Tadepalli camp office was converted into a party office after losing the election, the same conference system is being used.

It seems that in the list that states that the furniture will be returned to the government, the expensive video conference system. Atleast, it was not mentioned in the list for which Jagan’s office expressed readiness to pay their cost.

As part of the video conference system, advanced TVs, mike systems and camera systems were purchased by the GAD at that time. Former CM Jagan’s office has written a letter saying that only chairs and tables will be returned.

Recently, the YSRCP has asked the state government to take back the furniture installed with government money in the camp office in Tadepalli when YS Jagan was the Chief Minister.

The party’s general secretary Lella Appireddy has written to the GAD to give immediate clearance regarding the furniture items from the camp office. An official letter has been given to the GAD Deputy Secretary to take immediate action in this regard.
