It has been nearly two years since Pooja Hegde signed up a big-ticket film. She was once the most sought after actress to play the leading lady opposite top league actors in South cinema. Unfortunately, offers started dwindling down after she couldn’t make any impact in her last few outings and also due to the advent of young and happening beauties who are the first choice of preference for filmmakers.
After turning the heads with her enchanting screen presence in the blockbuster film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Pooja set sights on ruling the roost in South for the next few years. But, she failed to impress in successive attempts with Most Eligible Bachelor, Radheshyam and Acharya. Tamil film Beast also didn’t do much favour for her as she started losing relevance due to lack of any big hits.
She then looked up towards Bollywood for change of fortune and signed two films quickly. Unfortunately, there is no change of fate as both of them ended as disasters. In the meantime, she missed out on a couple of crazy opportunities in Telugu after being initially considered as the main lead beside top stars in two big films.
When it appeared like she might go into the state of oblivion with a little hope for revival, Pooja Hegde finally secured a huge opportunity in the form of ‘Thalapathy 69’. She bagged the ambitious film as the main heroine. As Thalapathy 69 is Vijay’s last film there will be massive expectations all over. This is Pooja’s second film with Vijay after Beast.
Besides Thalapathy 69, Pooja is also paired opposite Suriyah in Karthik Subbaraj’s film. Both these films will release in 2025. She also lined up Shahid Kapoor’s Deva which is also salted for release next year. These notable offers provide a glimmer of hope for Pooja to make a strong comeback amid intense competition from the new crop of heroines.
