Three senior IPS officers, who were suspended in the illegal detention and torture of Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethwani’s case, have been named as accused, for the firt time in the remand report after the arrest of YCP leader and the first accused in the case Kukkala Vidyasagar.

Presently, Vidyasagar was sent for judicial custody till October 4 and the police likely seek his custody for interrogation, in which they are expecting sensational revelations related to the case. As non-bailable sections were foisted in the case, further probe is likely to create problems for the senior IPS officers.

The Remand Report mentioned the then Intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyu as A2, the then Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kanti Rana Tata as A3l,   Hanumantha Rao who worked as West Zone ACP as A4, the former Ibrahimpatnam CI Satyanarayana as A5 and the then DCP Vishal Gunni as A6.

The AP government has already suspended three IPS officers, ACP and CI in the case. In the remand report, the police stated that Mumbai actress Jethwani was harassed by IPS officers colluding with YCP leader Vidyasagar. There were allegations that actress Jethwani was illegally arrested and taken to Vijayawada and harassed without enabling her to get bail.

Ever since the case came to light, two special police teams have been hunting for Vidyasagar, who has been running away from the police. Finally the police arrested him in Dehradun. If the police take him into custody and interrogate him, the full details are likely to come to light.

The rest of the accused are also afraid of arrest. Kantirana Tata has already approached the High Court for anticipatory bail. The court that inquired into the matter ordered that no action be taken against him till Tuesday. However, the court has made it clear that he should cooperate with the investigation.
