The Nampally court directed Jubilee Hills police to register a case against controversial astrologer Venu Swamy, who is famous as a celebrity astrologer. The legal action stems from a complaint filed by the journalist Murthy, who accused Venu Swamy of defrauding numerous individuals under the guise of astrology.
Meanwhile, apart from agreeing with the arguments of the petitioner, the court issued orders to the Jubilee Hills police to immediately register a case against Venu Swamy and conduct an investigation. During a recent hearing before the court, the petitioner’s lawyer argued that the journalist had been targeted and his life threatened for exposing the astrologer’s alleged activities.
The lawyer highlighted Venu Swamy’s alleged misuse of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image to deceive innocent people including common people, celebrities, politicians and film actors. After examining the petition, the court ordered the Jubilee Hills police to book a case and conduct a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
