TDP chief and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu exude confidence that the Telugu Desam Party, which took birth from the soil of Telangana, would come to power in the state in the future.
Holding a meeting with the party leaders in Telangana on Saturday, he revealed that the party cadre in the state asked him to strengthen the party here also, for which he is preparing a suitable action plan for that.
He assured that while respecting the sentiments of the people of Telangana region, he will bring back glory to the Telugu Desam Party. He recalled that everyone made fun of him when he said Vision 2020, but this time he is working with Vision-2047 and trying to make Telugu states number one in the world.
Chandrababu said that Telangana state TDP president will be appointed soon and party membership campaign will be started in both the Telugu states very soon. Announcing cancellation of all existing committees in the state, he said only after completion of membership of new committees will be formed along with AP.
According to party sources, he discussed different aspects, including strengthening the party and reviving the party’s prospects in Telangana. Due to unavoidable circumstances, he said that the Party was unable to contest in assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state.
However, Chandrababu assured that focus was being laid on the ensuing local bodies elections, adding that a party membership drive would be launched in 15 days in the State. After the drive, a decision would be taken on appointing the new Telangana TDP president, he added.
The TDP Chief also assured the party leaders that he would be visiting Telangana every second Saturday and Sunday. Sources indicate that the meeting provided a platform for party activists to present their petitions and suggestions, emphasizing the need for a united approach to strengthen the party’s grassroots efforts in the region.
