CPI(M) Leader Julakanti Rangareddy Demands Probe into Sunkisala Project Wall Collapse

Monday, November 25, 2024
CPI(M) leader Julakanti Rangareddy has called for a thorough investigation into the recent collapse of the sidewall at the Sunkisala project, urging legal action against those responsible. On Saturday, a CPI(M) delegation inspected the site where the retaining wall had given way.
Speaking after the inspection, Julakanti criticized the construction company, Mega Engineering Construction Company, for failing to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe, leading to the collapse. He alleged that the government had not been adequately supervising the construction work, contributing to the incident.
Julakanti noted that no workers were present at the time of the collapse, which prevented any loss of life. He emphasized that the accident could have been avoided if the construction company had taken necessary precautions. He pointed out that cement work was not properly executed, and adequate curing was not done, especially as floods were approaching. Julakanti urged the government to ensure stricter oversight of ongoing construction activities to prevent such incidents in the future.
