Madanapalle Files Burning Case Handed over To CID

Friday, November 22, 2024

The AP government handed over the case of burning of records at Madanapalle sub collector’s office, which created a sensation throughout Andhra Pradesh to CID. DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao has issued orders to this effect for in-depth investigation into the incident.

So far 9 cases have been registered against the followers of former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy for the incident that happened on 21st of last month. It has been revealed in the inquiry that thousands of acres of government and private lands have been alienated.

In the meeting of collectors and SPs on Monday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made a serious reference to the issue of revenue lands, and Principal Secretary RP Sisodia’s comments on the incident reflected the seriousness of the situation.

On the 21st of last month at 11.30 pm, the revenue files were burnt in the Madanapalle sub collector’s office of Annamayya district. Taking the incident seriously, Chief Minister Chandrababu immediately ordered DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao to go in a helicopter, and he reached the spot and inspected it.

Official reports concluded that there was a hidden conspiracy in the burning of documents and not a short circuit. Apart from this, RP Sisodia stayed in Madanapalle for three days and received complaints from the victims. About 580 complaints were received.

Officials have found that over 70 percent of all of them are lands and places forcibly grabbed by Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s followers. Around 2400 files were burnt in the office while 700 partially burnt files were seized.

It was found that the CCTV cameras in the revenue office were not working since July 10. It has been revealed in the parallel investigation of the police and revenue department that there is a huge conspiracy hidden in this matter.  Already AP CID chief Dr Ravishankar Ayyannar has visited the place twice and inspected it thoroughly.
