Thursday, September 19, 2024

Chief Minister Chandrababu called on all officials and employees to prepare to work on the same wavelength to correct the misguided governance in the state. Speaking at the first Collector’s conference after coming to power two months ago, he said that  there is a need for everyone to set a goal and move forward from time to time.

He said that from the time he became the Chief Minister in 1995, till he became the Chief Minister for the fourth time, he has been conducting the collector’s conference as a matter of duty to move forward collectively. He deplored that five years ago after change of government a collector’s conference was held at Praja Vedika, which was demolished soon after and since then destruction of all sectors became inevitable in the state.

He expressed concern that during the last five years the sentiments of the officials have been hurt. He recalled that once upon a time, Andhra bureaucracy was recognized at the national level and those who went from here would get key positions at the Centre.

In order to work efficiently,he said, all the collectors should take advantage of the opportunity that comes to them.  He suggested to them that any problem should be dealt with from a humanitarian point of view and the collectors should work in that direction.

Chandrababu called upon the collectors to take up the program ‘Pedala Sevalo’ (In the service of the poor) on the 10th of every month. He said that even though Rs.2.70 lakh crores were distributed to the people in the last five years, it never went to the people, and even if the meetings were held, there was a situation where they were brought by force. He cautioned them that they should not  insult the poor, behave indecently and make fun of them.

Revenue Minister Anaganii Satya Prasad said that stricter laws should be made in the state like Gujarat, and if the poor are to be treated unjustly, the Land Grabbing Act will be introduced as a threat.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said that the previous government has turned a strong system into a toy.  He said that once the state of Andhra Pradesh was a role model for bureaucrats of how it should be, now it has become a role model of how it should not be.
