Thursday, September 19, 2024

Reports initially suggested that a girl from Telangana was among the three victims who died in a flood water incident in Delhi’s Rajendra Nagar. However, Delhi Police have confirmed that the deceased is not from Telangana but from Bihar.

The victim, identified as Taniya Soni, had traveled from Bihar to Delhi for civil course training. Her father, a gazetted officer with Coal India, is currently on deputation at Singareni Collieries in Mancherial. Upon learning of the incident, the family traveled to Delhi to arrange for the repatriation of her body to Bihar.

In response to the situation, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sought information from Gaurav Uppal, Resident Commissioner of Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi. The Chief Minister inquired whether the deceased or any other victims were from Telangana. Gaurav Uppal confirmed that neither the deceased nor any of the 30 survivors were from Telangana.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed Gaurav Uppal to offer assistance from the Telangana government to the deceased’s family, should they request support, whether financial or otherwise. However, the family has independently arranged for Taniya Soni’s transportation to Bihar.
