Shankar Shanmugam is one of the top-league directors with huge pan-India popularity. The disastrous box office result of his most ambitious sequel ‘Indian 2’ with Kamal Haasan demoralised Shankar very much because he dedicated more than 4 years for its making and spend massive budget.
Shankar is now under immense pressure because his next film is Game Changer which stars RRR actor Ram Charan in the lead role. Game Changer is a much bigger and more prestigious film for Shankar given the high expectations surrounding it and the staggering budget involved in it. Moreover, it is very crucial for Ram Charan because it has been nearly three years since the project went on floors.
Game Changer is on the brink of completing the shooting formalities. Till now, the release date of this political actioner hasn’t been announced. Shankar also gave evasive statements about the release during the promotions of Indian 2. So, there is no clarity on when this much anticipated film releases.
As Indian 2 tanked heavily at the box office, Shankar wants to be more cautious about the final cut of Game Changer. He wants to make sure that Game Changer will not meet the same fate as Indian 2 at the box office.
Sources revealed that producer Dil Raju and Ram Charan have decided not to put any pressure on Shankar and give him ample time for the post production activities. They are in no rush to release the film this year. If Shankar wants to dedicate more time, the film might release next year.
Shankar is very determined to make amends with Game Changer and make a solid comeback.
