BJP state president and MP Daggubati Purandeshwari has lamented that the five-year YS Jaganmohan reddy’s regime in the state was worse than emergency and everyone those who questioned them were harassed with SC and ST atrocities prevention cases against them.
Presiding over the state BJP executive meeting in Rajamahendravaram on Monday, she said that during the previous regime not only temples were destroyed, chariots were burnt and those who questioned the same were put in jails.
She said that even after 50 years still people haven’t forgotten the dark regime of Indira Gandhi, who had earlier imposed an emergency across the country. Similarly, she made it clear that people will not forget the last five years of YCP rule. She wondered over the statements being issued by YS Jagan even after the disastrous defeat.
“We are still talking about the emergency imposed during Indira Gandhi’s regime in the past. During the last five years of Jagan’s rule, almost such an emergency environment prevailed. Whoever raised their voice, SC and ST cases were filed against them and they were put in jails”, she added.
She strongly refuted Jagan’s claims of destruction going on in the state after the defeat of his government, she said that maybe his memory is fading. Less than five years ago, she recalled that when the YCP came to power, there were many incidents like the demolition of the Praja Vedika, the burning of the Antarvedi Rath, and the destruction of the temple in Pithapuram. Isn’t all this destruction?, she asked.
Purandeshwari said that the people voted for Vikasit Bharat and Atma Nirbhara and gave the NDA alliance a wonderful victory at the center and in the state. She congratulated the Election Commission of India for conducting an excellent election in a country with a population of 140 crores.
She clarified that the credit of bringing India’s economy from 11th to 5th place goes to Narendra Modi. She said that in the last five years we have provided tap connections to about 15 crore people and construction of lakhs of kilometers of roads has been undertaken.
Stating that BJP got 24 crore votes in this election, she said BJP’s votes have increased. However, she claimed that we have lost seats due to the opposition’s propaganda. She reminded that if Congress insulted the Constitution, Modi bowed to the Constitution.
BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, Union Minister Srinivasa Varma, State Minister Satya Kumar, MP CM Ramesh, MLAs Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy Kamineni Srinivas, Adinarayana Reddy, Vishnukumar Raju, Sujana Chaudhary, Iswara Rao and Parthasaradhi were present.
