YCP’s Under-Construction Office Demolition At Tadepalli

Sunday, November 24, 2024

A day after YS Jaganmohan Reddy took oath as MLA in the state assembly, the state government initiated demolition of  the under-construction YCP central office at Tadepalli on the outskirts of the state capital. The demolitions started in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Officials of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) are demolishing the under-construction YCP central office building,  which was ready for laying the slab from 5:30 am, amid heavy police presence. The building demolition work started using bulldozers and pockliners. While in power, the YCP has grabbed valuable sites for its district offices all over the state at a nominal lease.

As part of it, an attempt was made to acquire two acres of government land in Undavalli of Guntur district in the name of lease. It was originally an irrigation department space and during the British regime the space was provided for boat yard space. This site came to light when former Mangalagiri YCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy proposed to use it for drinking water scheme.

But they plotted to take over for the party, which was strongly protested by both TDP and Jana Sena at that time. Ignoring all objections YCP started construction of its party central office in two acres space.

However, recently CRDA objected stating it as illegal construction. But YCP approached the High Court on Friday challenging the preliminary proceedings prepared by the CRDA for the demolition. The High Court has ordered the CRDA not to deal with violating the act.

Expressing anger over the CRDA demolition act, YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy  accused Chandrababu taking political revenge to another level. He alleged that this gives a violent message about how the regime is going to be for the next five years. He said that YCP will not bother with such threats and acts of harassment and will not turn its back.
