Thursday, December 19, 2024

The newly elected government in Andhra Pradesh has decided to hold the first assembly session for the current tenure from June 24th. This session will last three days during which all MLAs will take oath in the presence of pro-term speaker and this will be followed by the announcement of speaker and deputy speaker.

Though it was initially announced that the assembly session will be held from this 19th, it has been deferred to next Monday as Andhra Pradesh governor Abdul Nazeer is on leave on the occasion of Bakrid. As per reliable reports, Narsipatnam MLA Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu has been finalized as the speaker and another senior Gorantla Buchiah Chowdary is likely to be the pro-term speaker.

As Pawan Kalyan is one of the alliance partners in the government, the deputy speaker will be from his Janasena party. Nellimarla MLA Lokam Madhavi is the forerunner for this post. There is no news yet on who will be the Chief VIP of this new government. Dhulipala Narendra is being considered for this post.

Meanwhile, the first cabinet meeting will be held in the state secretariat on June 22nd. Some of the key decisions like finalising Speaker and Deputy Speaker and other nominated posts will be done during this meeting.

On the other side, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to convene a party meeting with all MLAs, MPs and contestants of the recent assembly elections on Wednesday.
