Case Registered Against Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy

A criminal case has been registered against Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the general secretary of YSRCP and advisor to the AP government, by the Tadepalli police in Amaravati. This action followed a complaint by TDP leaders Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Gudapati Lakshminarayana, who accused Sajjala of making inappropriate and provocative comments about counting agents during the election process. The case was filed under sections 153, 505, and 125 of the IPC.

The controversy arose from Sajjala’s address at the YSRCP’s chief counting agents’ awareness conference, where he allegedly advised agents to prevent opposing parties from interfering during the vote counting and to ensure no votes for their party were invalidated. He purportedly encouraged the agents to manipulate rules in their favor and stated that those unwilling to fight for this were not fit for the role. His remarks also included urging agents to instill confidence and argue over the rules to prevent others from gaining an advantage.
