Amaravati Capital Construction Equipments Silently Shifting To Visakha

Friday, November 22, 2024

As everyone eagerly waits for the results, after the polling process is over,  Megha Engineering, a joint venture of the ruling YSRCP, is moving the construction equipment from the capital, Amaravati silently to Visakhapatnam, at will. Without the permission from the CRDA, it was taken care of by the government officials.

Megha Engineering Company is moving the electricity cables stored underground in capital Amaravati to Atchutapuram in Visakhapatnam district. The move has now come out without any fuss.

4 months ago without the same permits, drinking water pipes worth Rs. 20 crore were moved from Amaravati to Done of Nandyala district. Cable drums are being taken for the works undertaken by this organization in Visakhapatnam. Drums with 220 KV wires, each about 500 meters long, are loaded into heavy vehicles and moved.

Looking at the papers of the transport vehicles, it is written that the drums are not for sale but only for moving from one site to another site. Drums are being moved in heavy vehicles under the bill of Sathya Sai Transport Company. It is reported that around 18 drums have been moved till Saturday evening.

From Lingayapalem to Megha Engineering Infra Limited, Atchutapuram, Visakhapatnam is mentioned in the transport bill. If the equipment is to be moved to another area, permission from CRDA is required. It is known that no permission has been given for this.

On Saturday, the police came to the vehicles transporting the drums, checked them and recorded the details and left them.  The previous Telugu Desam government has decided to build the capital Amaravati as a world-class city. It has also constructed underground ducts for the provision of infrastructure like wide roads, underground power network, drinking water and sewage system to meet the future needs.

TDP promised people to complete Amaravati construction if it returns to power in the present elections. On the other hand, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy announced he will take oath at Visakhapatnam and continue to work from there, indicating shifting of capital.

Megha company got a package of these works less than six years ago. The government changed while the works were in progress. With the arrival of Jagan’s government, the work in the capital came to a standstill.

Drums with heavy electric cables were built and stored by Megha Engineering in a sheet shed near the Krishna embankment between Rayapudi and Lingayapalem villages. At present, farmers are expressing their anger over the shifting of materials intended for construction works in the capital to other areas.
