Special police officers will be deployed to various districts for the vote counting process in response to the violence that occurred on and after polling day. Senior officials have been appointed to manage the aftermath of these violent incidents. Andhra Pradesh DGP Harish Kumar Gupta issued an order on Saturday, appointing additional SP and DSP level officers as special police officers for each district. In total, 56 officers have been appointed. The DGP instructed these officers to report to the higher officials of their respective districts by Saturday evening. Additionally, the DGP has directed that special officers take charge of law and order in sensitive areas.
