Security Alert: Intelligence Agencies Warn of Post-Election Clashes in AP

During the general elections in Andhra Pradesh, riots erupted in certain areas, followed by instances of post-polling violence. Presently, the situation appears to have stabilized, although Section 144 remains enforced in select regions. The Election Commission has taken action against officials for negligence leading to the unrest. However, recent warnings from the Central Intelligence Agency have raised concerns once more.

Intelligence agencies have alerted to the possibility of clashes following the announcement of election results in AP, anticipated after June 4. Police forces have been instructed to maintain vigilance until June 19. Emphasized the need for security arrangements, suggesting the involvement of central forces if necessary. Recommendations based on intelligence inputs aim to identify troubled areas within the state and prompt action.

The Election Commission has conveyed these concerns to the Union Home Ministry and mandated the deployment of 25 central armed forces for 15 days post-vote counting.
