Asserting that he would always stand by Muslims for their protection, welfare and development, TDP supremo and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that both Hindus and Muslims are `two eyes’ for him. He assured that no discrimination would be shown against them.
He held a special meeting with Muslims leaders at TDP office in Visakhapatnam on Friday morning and discussed various issues concerning him. Muslim elders from various parts of the state were present and expressed their concerns about the lack of justice for Muslims during YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime and sought to implement welfare schemes, which was suspended by the present government.
Chandrababu said that during his government he had implemented several initiatives for Muslims that no one has done in the country. He categorically assured them whatever may be he would protect 4 percent reservations prevailed for them.
He recalled that during Vajpayee regime it was he who proposed Abdul Kalam to be made President of the country and took initiative to convince the Congress party also. He also said that his government had always ensured communal harmony in Hyderabad city.
Naidu reminded that his persuasion for the development of Hyderabad as an international city helped a large number of Muslims to grow in various sectors. “I brought Urdu University to Hyderabad. On that day we did Urdu as a second language in 13 districts. We have built a Haj house in Hyderabad. We provided a direct flight for the Haj pilgrimage,” he added.
He said that the party that gave honorarium to Muslim religious leaders is TDP. He said that Ramzan Tofa and Dilahan were given. He said that many proposals were placed in the TDP manifesto for the welfare of Muslims, including Rs 1 lakh for Haj pilgrims and interest free loans through minority corporation.
Except for giving kisses, he lamented that CM Jagan did nothing for people and many Muslims suffered during his regime. He asked who supported CAA and NRC? Is it not YCP? He alleged that CM Jagan was behind Sonia (Congress leader Sonia Gandhi) in Parliament when the state was bifurcated.
Chandrababu asked Muslims to vote for him unilaterally for the good works he has done and support NDA for their own future and also development of the state.
