The Telangana High Court issued a ruling on Friday concerning the murder case involving former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy. Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, one of the accused in the case, faced a petition filed by Dastagiri, a former approver seeking to revoke Avinash Reddy’s anticipatory bail. The court, however, dismissed Dastagiri’s plea on Tuesday, citing insufficient evidence to support claims of witness tampering by Avinash Reddy.
Avinash Reddy’s legal team refuted Dastagiri’s allegations, contending that there was a lack of substantial proof indicating witness manipulation. Concurring with this argument, the court upheld Avinash Reddy’s anticipatory bail, thereby dismissing Dastagiri’s petition.
In a related development, Avinash Reddy’s father, YS Bhaskar Reddy, also implicated in the same case, was granted bail by the High Court. Nevertheless, bail requests from the other two accused, Uday Kumar Reddy and Sunil Yadav, were denied by the court.
