TDP activist Vemula Durga Rao, who was detained by the Vijayawada, suspecting him as provocator in the case of stone attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, was released by the Vijayawada police on Saturday night.
Police nabbed him on March 16th and tried to establish on the direction of TDP ex MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao he had masterminded the incident. However, unable to find any evidence and his lawyers decided to approach the High Court with habeas corpus petition, besides his family members are agitating at the Police Commissioner’s office seeking to know whereabouts, the police were forced to release him.
Finally, the police handed over Durga Rao to his family members, issuing notice under 160 CrPC and he was told to attend when called for further investigation. Meanwhile, the police first thought to take Satish, who is an accused in this case, into custody. But now it seems that they have decided to take his statement before the magistrate.
The police till now failed to get any evidence against Satish on stone pelting. After his release from the police, Durga Rao told the media that the police asked him whether TDP leader Bonda Umamaheswara Rao instigated him in this case.
He said that he clarified that the main accused Satish is a resident of his colony, but he has no contact with him. He further said that police failed to establish any connection with the incident after checking his mobile and questioning by several police repeatedly on the incident. He alleged that he was targeted because he was active in TDP.
After Durga Rao’s release, the question arises who is A2 in this case? Till now speculations were spread he may be the A2 or police attempting to implicate and arrest Bonda Uma as A2. But now The local court remanded the accused Satish for 14 days. But as Durga Rao was let go by the police, the question remains as to who is A2 in this case.
