Efforts to bring `vote for notes’ case again in the Supreme Court at the time of elections failed and the Apex court posted the case for hearing after summer vacations, on July 24.
Mangalagiri YCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy has filed a petition seeking CBI probe into this case and also include TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as accused in the case. Though he filed his petition in 2017, due to various reasons, the Apex court is yet to take up this matter.
When the case came before the Supreme Court on Thursday, the Telangana government requested the Apex court to give them some more time to provide the details as there are many aspects of law involved in the case.
Advocate Siddhartha Luthra asked the court to take at least two weeks’ time, as the Supreme Court was on summer vacation and there was no possibility to complete the trial of the case. Then the Supreme Court bench consisting of Justice MM Sundaresh and Justice SVN Bhatti said that the case will be heard after the summer vacation ends. The hearing is going to be held on July 24.
Meanwhile, three more cases are also pending before the Apex court in this regard. Matthiah and Sebastian also appealed to the Supreme Court. Former ministers Satyavati Rathore and Jagdish Reddy also requested the Supreme Court to transfer the case to Madhya Pradesh. The Supreme Court has also issued notices on this.
Recently Alla Ramakrishna Reddy left YCP, joined Congress and soon after returned back to YCP within a few days. Many criticisms have come against him in this regard. TDP has accused him of having gone to Congress to work as YCP covert.
