Following the Telangana assembly elections, there has been a swift transformation in the state’s political landscape. MLAs who emerged victorious against the BRS party are now aligning themselves with the Congress. Notably, former minister Mahender Reddy, Kadiyam Srihari, and BRS secretary general K Keshava Rao have all defected to the Congress. Moreover, party insiders suggest that factors such as the Delhi liquor scandal and defections have contributed to the party’s electoral setback.
During an exclusive cross-fire interview with BRS working president Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, Tv9 Managing Editor Rajinikanth highlighted these developments. KTR defended his party’s track record, citing their representation in the Rajya Sabha and leadership roles within the party. He expressed frustration, emphasizing that even the appointment of his daughter Vijayalakshmi as Mayor of Greater Hyderabad did not deter defections. KTR insisted that offering positions like corporation chairman to his son did not justify switching parties.
