The hearing for the bail plea of BRS MLC Kavitha, currently held in Tihar jail regarding the Delhi liquor case, concluded at the Rouse Avenue court. She was apprehended by the ED from her Hyderabad residence on March 15 and subsequently interrogated for ten days with court authorization.

Following this, she was remanded to judicial custody and transferred to Tihar Jail. Kavitha submitted a bail plea, represented by senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi. The Rouse Avenue court has reserved its verdict, scheduled to be announced on Monday.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has asserted the presence of significant evidence against Kavita in the Delhi liquor case. According to the ED, Kavita herself masterminded the plans related to the liquor policy scam. Additionally, it was revealed that Kavita had deliberately deleted data from her phone. Despite undergoing ten days of interrogation while in custody, she remained non-responsive to the questions posed.

Moreover, the ED disclosed that they seized ten phones from Kavita, all of which had been formatted before being surrendered. Furthermore, despite notices issued for her to attend questioning, four phones were found to have been formatted. The ED further highlighted that numerous digital devices belonging to the accused had been destroyed.
