Soon after the AICC declared her as the party’s candidate for Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, from where her cousin and close associate of chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is contesting as a sitting MP, APCC chief YS Sharmila made sensational allegations against her brother.
She alleged that her brother YS Jagan has `destroyed’ all people who trusted him as their `own’ and encouraged `politics of murder’. Admitting that it would be a very difficult decision for her to contest from Kadapa as Congress candidate, she said it was inevitable circumstances.
She said that she is contesting from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat so that the murderer who killed Viveka should not win. “I know this decision to contest in the polls will divide our family and not be easy for me. It will also put YSR supporters in confusion”, she said.
After the AICC released the first list of candidates for Andhra Pradesh, along with Congress leaders she offered prayers at YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya and sought his blessings. She said that her mother Vijayamma also blessed her with tears to fulfil her aims of entering politics.
She made it clear that she has no hatred towards her elder brother. She recalled that during the last elections he called her as `bidda’ (child), but not as a sister.
But, she deplored that after coming to power and becoming the chief minister he has changed completely. “I am not aware of his nature at present”, she added.
“I came to know facts very late. After knowing the truth I am practically unable to digest and tolerate this”, she said. She deplored that the perpetrators of the murder have not been punished and they are running away. Despite all the evidence, no action is being taken against them, she said.
She expressed concern that her brother is using his power to protect the accused and the same accused again given Kadapa MP seat. She lamented that the YCP government is drowning in blood and using uncle Viveka’s murder for political gains. She expressed anger that Sakthi TV channel, owned by her brother, had aired false stories about the murder case.
