Sunday, November 17, 2024

On Monday, BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao urged party leaders and workers to personally visit farmers and assess the condition of standing crops, especially in areas experiencing drought-like conditions and damage from heavy rainfall and hailstorms. During a press conference, senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao voiced concern over what he perceived as the Congress government’s neglect, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, towards farmers’ hardships.

He criticized the state government for failing to seek assistance from the Centre to evaluate crop losses statewide. Harish Rao called for immediate official assessment of crop damages and proposed financial aid of Rs 25,000 per acre for affected farmers. He warned that if the government did not act promptly, they would initiate protests in support of farmers, potentially including a siege of the Secretariat.
