‘Game Changer’ budget swells due to inordinate delay

Acclaimed South filmmaker Shankar Shanmugam has the reputation for spending lavishly on songs and action blocks in his movies. He usually takes two to three years for completing his films. This is one of the reasons why extravagant budgets are earmarked by his producers. His upcoming film Game Changer with RRR fame actor Ram Charan in the lead role is no exception.

Game Changer was announced in 2021 and the pre production activities kicked off in the same year. Close to four years now, the shooting formalities of this political thriller are yet to completed. The filming got delayed due to several reasons and the project faced numerous challenges all through. The inordinate delay has escalated the budget beyond the 350 Crore mark which was the initial estimate of the production house behind this magnum opus. It is likely to cost a total of 400 Crores for Dil Raju who is steering this project.

Both Ram Charan and Shankar are taking home hefty remunerations. Bollywood Diva Kiara Advani is also charging a bomb for this film. Shankar spent a fortune for songs and heavy-duty action episodes which are likely to be the major highlight for the film. Game Changer is now the highest budgeted film in Shankar’s career and also the biggest production for Dil Raju.
