TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu responded strongly to CM Jagan’s ‘Siddham Sabha’ in Raptadu, Anantapur today, where several pressing questions were directed at the CM.
Questions were raised concerning various issues: Why did the Jockey industry leave? What happened to Kia’s ancillary industries? Where are the promised drip schemes for farmers? Chandrababu Naidu voiced his concerns by tweeting about the matter.
He also shed light on the events leading to the departure of the Jockey industry. According to him, the parent company, Page Industries, had intended to establish a Jockey underwear industry in Andhra Pradesh. In 2017, Page Industries was allocated 27 acres of land in Raptadu, Anantapur district, by the then AP government through APIIC.
However, complications arose during the land allocation process due to the change in government after the elections. Allegedly, a local public representative demanded Rs 20 crore, half the cost of winning the elections, from Page Industries. Additionally, pressure was exerted on the company to offer sub-contracts to certain individuals and provide jobs to recommended candidates. Severe consequences were threatened if these demands were not met.
