New Delhi: In a significant development concerning the cash-for-vote case, allegations have resurfaced against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for purportedly attempting to purchase MLAs nearly a decade ago. The Supreme Court has issued a notice to Revanth Reddy, responding to a petition filed by BRS leaders Jagadish Reddy, Kalvakuntla Sanjay, Satyavati Rathod, and Mohammad Ali, seeking the transfer of the case to either Madhya Pradesh or Chhattisgarh.
Concerns have been raised about potential influence on the case, given Revanth Reddy’s current position, prompting doubts about the transparency of the investigation. A two-judge bench, comprising Justices B R Gavai and Sandeep Mehta, heard the petition, issuing notices to the state government and respondents, with a deadline of four weeks for responses.
The case, originally registered in 2015 during Revanth Reddy’s tenure with TDP, gained attention through viral videos depicting Revanth Reddy allegedly offering money to nominated MLA Stephenson. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) initiated the case, which has garnered renewed attention following Reddy’s assumption of the Chief Minister’s office.
