‘Kalki’ release hangs in the balance

In the making for more than two years now, pan-India superstar Prabhas’ long awaited dystopian science fiction thriller ‘Kalki 2898AD’ is yet to wrap up the shooting formalities. Surprisingly, the makers have been maintaining that the film will hit the screens on May 9th without any delay.

As the release date is just three months away, the team will have its task cut out to complete the pending shooting activities and post-production works. Reports suggest that a massive final schedule will commence from February 12th. The entire principal cast will take part in this schedule which will long for a month.

So, the release date will largely depend on how well the team pulls off this schedule without any deviations. Moreover, they will need to simultaneously wrap up the post-production activities if they want to make the film ready for the scheduled date. On the other side, team sources say that the shooting works of the first part are already done and dusted.

With a lot of money riding on the film and also the fact that it will have a wide release in different languages, the makers might not rush things in the last minute. Hence, the release date hangs in the balance as of now. Though the makers have not officially announced, industry circles believe that the film will get postponed. We need to wait for a few more days to get a clear picture of the release date.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898AD stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani and others in significant roles. Prabhas plays a larger-than-life character in this film.
