Films inspired by Indian epics and their characters are gaining huge traction among moviegoers. The recent Tollywood superhero film Hanuman is another example of this fact. Up next, all eyes of Bollywood’s much-awaited tentpole film Ramayana which will see Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Yash will be seen as the menacing Ravan in this film.
The Nitish Tiwari directional has already grabbed the attention of everyone with its announcement and subsequent updates about the casting. As the Ram Lalla pran pratishtha consecration ceremony turned out to be a massive hit across the globe, a film on Ramayana is likely to be the talking point in the coming days.
As part of casting, Nitesh Tiwari and his team are hitting the bull’s eye with their selection of actors to portray key roles in this epic saga. Already, Sunny Deol has been finalized to reprise Lord Hanuman and Lara Dutta to appear as Kaikeya.
Now, the latest addition to this ensemble cast is versatile Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi who has been roped in to play Vibhishana in this mythological behemoth.
Reports suggest that Vijay is blown away by the character arc and immediately signed on the dotted line. The regular shooting will commence in March this year. The makers are targeting 2025 Diwali for a grand release.
