Amaravati: YSRCP faced another setback as Lavu Srikrishna Devaraya resigned from the position of Narasaraopeta MP, along with his primary membership in the YSRCP. Despite the lack of clarity on his future party affiliation, Srikrishna Devaraya did not specify which party he would be joining. Reports indicate that the party leadership had recommended Srikrishna Devaraya contest from Guntur instead of Narasaraopet, a suggestion he was not interested in accepting.
Addressing his resignation, he expressed the need to end the uncertainty prevailing in the party over the last 15-20 days. He emphasized that neither he nor the party benefitted from the ongoing uncertainty, causing confusion among the cadre about the party’s direction. In a statement, he mentioned, “I have served the constituency diligently in the last four-and-a-half years.
However, the party leadership intends to field a new candidate in the constituency, creating confusion for everyone.” He highlighted Chief Minister YS Jagan’s encouragement and support, stating that he had actively engaged with the people and worked to address their needs during his tenure as an MP.
