Hyderabad: The Telangana government is reportedly considering appointing retired DGP M Mahender Reddy as the Chairman of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has prioritized filling the TSPSC Chairman position and invited applications, with a search committee reviewing over 371 applications. Of these, only one name, Mahender Reddy, was forwarded to the Governor for consideration.
Mahender Reddy, a 1986 batch IPS officer, has held significant roles in law enforcement, including serving as the DGP of Telangana for five years. Presently, the TSPSC has a total of 11 member posts, with two members currently in service. While one member has submitted a resignation, it has not been accepted by the Governor. Additionally, another member is anticipated to resign. In essence, although there are technically 11 member positions, only 9 are currently vacant.
