Hyderabad: TDP MLA, Balakrishna, paid homage to his father, the late legendary actor-politician, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), on the 28th anniversary of his passing at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad. Alongside family members, including Nandamuri Ramakrishna and Suhasini, Balakrishna reflected on NTR’s impactful legacy.
During the commemoration, Balakrishna praised NTR’s dedication to welfare schemes for the underprivileged, stating that the late actor is regarded as the embodiment of “navarasas” – the nine emotions. Balakrishna, acknowledging the enduring influence of NTR’s initiatives, highlighted their continued implementation and described NTR as an eternal symbol of societal upliftment.
In his address, Balakrishna remarked, “NTR’s way of life is akin to God’s way of life. He is a deity for all communities.” Reflecting on NTR’s revolutionary contributions, Balakrishna mentioned the abolition of the patwari system, transformation of taluks into mandals, and the establishment of various welfare programs benefiting farmers and women in Telangana.
