Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha wrote a letter to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) that she will not be able to attend the scheduled questioning tomorrow. The ED had issued notices to Kavitha, requesting her presence for questioning in the Delhi liquor case. In response, Kavitha, citing a protection order from the Supreme Court and the pending nature of her case in the same court, conveyed her inability to attend the ED’s summons.
Having faced three rounds of questioning by the ED in the liquor case, Kavitha had approached the Supreme Court after receiving a notice for the fourth time. In her plea, she emphasized the need for women to be either at home or utilize video-conferencing for such proceedings. The Supreme Court granted relief to Kavitha. Despite this, the ED has once again issued a notice, to which Kavitha has reiterated her unavailability for the upcoming hearing.
