The embarrassing box office result of Prabhas’ mythological drama Adipurush, which is based on the epic Ramayana, continues to haunt its director Om Raut. After the film’s release last year, Raut was roasted by moviegoers across the country for his haphazard narration and aimless direction. Moreover, the tacky VFX effects made a mockery of the staggering budget with which the film was made.
Even before the release of Adipurush, Om Raut became a target because the CG shots in the teaser didn’t go well with the audiences. So, the makers had to postpone the film to enhance the graphics. In the meantime, the teaser of Prashanth Varma’s HanuMan, a small film that is currently on rampage at the box office, surprised everyone with its superlative VFX effects despite the modest budget of the film.
Many have pointed fingers at Om Raut at that time asking him to take feedback from the HanuMan director. After the film’s release, Raut faced severe backlash for his inability to deliver a quality output despite utilizing a budget of 500 Crores.
Cut to the present, Prashanth Varma delivered a smash hit with just 25 crores of budget. The way he pulled off the graphics in HanuMan and blended the devotion story with action elements mesmerized everyone. So, Om Raut is once again getting trolled for floundering a golden opportunity with Adipurush which would have created a rampage at the box office with its universal and mythological storyline.
HanuMan is currently creating havoc at the box office with its stupendous run. The visual extravaganza is getting accolades from all quarters.
