Rajahmundry: Former Member of Parliament Lagadapati Rajagopal recently held a meeting with fellow former MPs Undavalli Arun Kumar and Harsha Kumar, marking a significant development in Andhra Pradesh politics. Prior to 2014, these three politicians played pivotal roles in the state’s political landscape, but subsequently took a step back from active politics. Their reunion gains importance, particularly as the Congress is reasserting its presence in Andhra Pradesh politics.
Reflecting on his political journey, Lagadapati stated that his career concluded with the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, a commitment he made to exit politics if the state were divided. Since 2014, he has remained disengaged from politics, occasionally meeting Undavalli and Harsha Kumar during visits to Rajahmundry. Lagadapati predicted that in the upcoming elections, national parties would have minimal influence, with the contest primarily between regional parties. Regardless of their party affiliations, Lagadapati expressed his support for Undavalli and Harsha Kumar in their political endeavors.
