Member of Parliament from Vijayawada constituency and prominent leader of TDP, Kesineni Srinivas ( Nani) is likely to resign from the party as the high command directed him to stay away from party-related affairs in the run-up to 2024 elections. Reports are rife that Nani might now join BJP or YSRCP and contest in the upcoming elections.
Earlier today, Nani, who is one of the three MPs to represent TDP in Lok Sabha after the humiliating defeat in the 2019 elections, posted on his official Facebook page that former Ministers Alapati Raja and Nettam Raghuram and former MP Konakalla Narayana met him yesterday and informed that party president Chandra Babu Naidu has decided to nominate some other leader to contest as Vijayawada MP in the coming elections and also asked him not to involve in party activities.
This shocking decision from TDP comes ahead of CBN’s visit to Tiruvur constituency on January 7th and also speculations that Kesineni Chinni, brother of Nani, is tipped to contest from Vijayawada MP segment.
Recently, a clash erupted between the warring groups of Nani and Chinni during a coordination meeting between TDP and Janasena to chalk out the program for Naidu’s visit to Tiruvur. The two groups hurled abuses and threw furniture at each other, leading to the cancellation of the meeting.
Reports suggest that Naidu is very furious with Nani’s comments and his behaviour with other leaders in the last couple of years. On numerous occasions, Nani openly attacked some of the prominent TDP leaders in Vijayawada constituency. Recently, he made scathing remarks on Dalit TDP leader Devdutt and the party’s high command seems to have taken them seriously.
Though Nani said he would obey the instructions of the party head, there are rumours that he will deflect to another party very soon.
