New Delhi: In New Delhi, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy held a meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat on Thursday. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy briefed the media about the meeting, stating that they discussed various matters.
During the interaction, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy mentioned that they have formally requested national status for the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy project. This ambitious project aims to lift 90 TMC of water, providing water to 1,200 villages and irrigation water to 12 lakh acres. He further added that they have urged the Centre to bear 60 percent of the project’s cost if national status is granted.
Following an extensive discussion, the current status of the project is uncertain. The Union minister communicated that national status is not being granted, but he assured 60 percent funding under alternative schemes. Notably, the Telangana government has already invested 40 percent of the funds in the Palamuru-Rangareddy project.
