Warangal: Hanumakonda: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, MLC of BRS, advocated granting national status to the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara. Speaking at a press conference held at the party office in Hanumakonda district en route to visit the forest deities, she raised this demand. This comes even before the release of the inquiry report on the Kaleswaram project. Kavitha questioned the characterization of the project as the ‘birth of sins’ by the government.
Expressing public doubts about the Congress’s six guarantees, she called on the government to address them responsibly. Kavitha criticized the Congress for ascending to power with unfulfilled promises, citing pending pensions and Rythu Bandhu for beneficiaries. While acknowledging the BRS stronghold in Oragallu district during the movement, she acknowledged facing challenges in the changed political landscape. Kavitha encouraged BRS activists to stay resilient and act as a bridge between the government and the people.
