Hyderabad: In the Telangana Assembly, a heated debate unfolded between AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding a white paper on power sector losses presented by the Congress party. Revanth Reddy criticized AIMIM for not addressing alleged wrongdoings by the BRS Government, cautioning against affiliations with such figures. Akbaruddin countered, pointing out Revanth Reddy’s diverse political history and urging greater maturity in discourse.
Earlier, Akbaruddin expressed concerns about discrepancies in the Congress Government’s white paper, highlighting Telangana’s position as the leading state in per capita electricity consumption. He emphasized increased power generation, infrastructure development, and expanded electricity supply to agriculture. Owaisi reminded the government of unfulfilled promises, including free electricity up to 200 units per household, and suggested direct payment of government department electricity bills to distribution companies.
