Y S Sharmila Reddy who is the daughter of late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and the sister of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan has floated her own party in Telangana with the sole aim of bringing Rajanna Rajyam.
Sharmila got a grand reception from the people initially but she failed to maintain that momentum going forward. Touted to be peeved by her brother Y S Jagan, she has dramatically floated her own party YSR Telangana Party. There are many reasons behind Sharmila for floating the party where the majority opine that the indifferences with her brother have led to this situation. In the course of this journey, she made a decision to merge her party in Congress putting forth her conditions but nothing seems to be working out in her favour.
There is a lot of opposition in the name of senior leaders of the Congress party but Sharmila seems to be trying really hard to work out the equation. She even went to Delhi and met Sonia Gandhi regarding this. But Sonia is reluctant to the conditions put forward by Sharmila to merge her party. Everyone thought that there might be a big announcement when Sonia Gandhi came to Hyderabad recently but nothing of that sort has happened. As the election schedule is about to be announced, Sharmila seems to be in a perplexed situation about whether to merge the party or to fight independently. Some senior leaders including Revanth Reddy proposed the high command to make Sharmila contest from AP so that it would help in reviving the party. Have to wait and see what happens next.
