Atlee’s ‘Self Dabba’ receiving continuous trolls

Jawan director Atlee seems to be getting too carried away by the massive success of his latest offering, Jawan, which stars Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Ever since Jawan hit the screens and emerged as a blockbuster, Atlee has been making exaggerated statements during his media interactions. His highfalutin claims started to be regarded as ‘Self Dabba’ ( blowing one’s own trumpet) by media circles and moviegoers.

A few days back, Atlee said Jawan is a masterpiece and deserves an Oscar award. He said the Film Federation of India should officially recommend Jawan to the Oscars. His statements received huge trolling because Jawan is just a rehash of many commercial entertainers and there is nothing great to rave about in terms of its story and other aspects. Only it was Shah Rukh Khan’s power-packed screen presence and Anirudh’s superlative background score helped the film achieve huge box office success.

Now, Atlee said he received a call from notable Hollywood production houses after the success of Jawan to do an English film. Social media is abuzz with continuous trolls on Atlee for his over-the-top statements as if Jawan is an all-time classic. No doubt, it is one of the biggest blockbusters of our country. But, the way Atlee is trying to blow the trumpet about his abilities is not being received well.

Up next, Atlee will team up with Allu Arjun for a pan-India film. He will need to come up with a better script to impress the audience because he cannot get away second time.
